Dr. Uma Heroor

ANIL EYE HOSPITAL was the brain child of Dr. Uma Heroor. She was one of the first eye surgeons to start practise in dombivli. She was especially known for her caring nature & the excellent rapport that she shared with her patients.

Dr. Anagha Anil Heroor is a consulting Ophthalmic surgeon at ANIL EYE HOSPITAL,. A Gold medallist from the University of Mumbai, Dr Anagha plays a leadership role along with a dedicated team of specialists.

Dr. Anagha Heroor received BHISHAGVARYA award as the best Doctor of the year in 2012 by Bramhan sabha Dombivali.

  • Published an article 'Clinical significance & Association of Medullated Nerve fibers in the journal of the BOA VOL 8 No.3 July-Sept. 1998.
  • Presented a poster on 'Normal Tension Glaucoma' in the GLAUCOMA Society of India Annual Conference in November 2004 at Jalna.
  • Invited to the World Glaucoma Congress at Singapore in July 2007.

Dr Anagha is currently conducting research on topics related to

  • Correlation of OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) with optic disc photography & perimetry.
  • Evaluation of Corneal topography & wavefront data as a tool to optimize results in a Lasik & Cataract surgery.
  • Automated Perimetry significance of SWAP Blue Yellow Perimetry for early detection of Glaucoma.
  • Evaluation of risk factors of Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma.
  • Evaluation of risk factors for Diabetic Retinopathy.

Social Activities

Conducted many eye camps in & around Dombivli, in the adjoining rural areas of Dativili and Kamba Village.

  • Glaucoma & Diabetic Screening Camps are a regular feature at Anil Eye Hospital.
  • Publication of an annual eye magazine called NETRAM through Anil Eye Hospital, with the idea of promoting awareness about Ophthalmic advances among family physicians & other speciality consultants.
  • Conducted many eye camps in various schools in Dombivli for early detection of visual disorders in children.
  • Delivered many lectures on various eye problems & their management in Dombivili & Kalyan areas.
  • Regularly features on 'Star Majha' TV programme to improve social awareness on eye diseases.
  • Organised a 'Glaucoma support Group' of established Glaucoma patients & conducted interactive workshops on World Glaucoma day, March 12th since the last 2 years.
